Why Take Adult ESL Courses

In 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø’s Adult ESL program, you’ll develop the skills to:

  • Participate in American society
  • Enter employment
  • Advance in the workplace
  • Enroll in a training program or the Academic ESL Program
  • Be successful in the citizenship process

ESL Classes

Students are placed in a class based on their level of English. Every class includes reading, writing, listening, speaking, and grammar. Students also learn general aspects of American culture and civics. New students are tested to ensure placement accuracy.

ESL Program Qualifications

This program is for residents of the 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø district who have limited English or who are non-English-speaking adults, 17 years of age or older. Sixteen-year-old students may enroll with parental and secondary school district permission.

Cost

Qualifying students attend classes without cost.

For the purpose of compliance with Section 511 of Public Law 101-166 (Stevens Amendment), approximately 39% ($377,444) of FY24 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø Adult Education and Literacy funding comes from federal resources.
